Its OK.. We try a few scopes with the PVS24..Its NO RAPTOR..But it is nice to use the day scope and use the dope just like you would without the pvs24..Its a light unit and easy to use..I say its a keeper for a couple weeks who know ?

that 24 doesnt look much better than my pvs-14 coupled up or the 14 with the 3x you have shown. suppose it would kick more ass on a bigger objective scope? if i run my 14 behind my uso 10x it is really unbelievable how well it does.

I like the pvs24 better than any scope combo and a PVS14. I have used most of them even the USO 1.8-10 ON 10X was not impresive nor was any day scope I have used and a PVS14 past 2-3 power (IN THE DARK NO MOON WOODS).. not even in the same field a pvs24 A Raptor for clarity and resalution is hard to beet if you want clarity field of view and resalution RAPTOR..I still like the PVS24 Better at this Time.. When the moon goes away I will know where the PVS24 stands in my KIT..

Just got back from a field test ...Rain tornadic activity,Fogy BOLTS of lightning ...430 yards nailed the 12"x12" plate with standard day dope...

So what's the useable mag range on this unit?
After using and learning about it, do you still feel it's poor on 4X and 5.5X ACOG? Did you try it with the laser IR illuminator?
I tell you, although bigger heavier for sure, the PVS-22 is fantastic with every ACOG, with the TA11C 3.5X, TA31F 4X, and the TA55 5.5X in my inventory. It also offers useability at up to even 10X on my USO 1.8-10X37 (but is brilliant at 8X) and is still useable at 12X on the MK4 spotter with a laser illuminator.

600 yards looks doable in the fields away from the city lights 5x maybe 6x...The leupold work much better than the ACOGS or specter DR.. The 1.5-5 got a work out tonight and its good match for 25 yards to 400 maybe longer ?..I have not needed the IR yet..I am sure the PVS22 is better for its aplication,But The PVS24 fits My aplication..I lug my gear and learned the hard way Ounces=POUNDS=PAIN...In no way can this compete with your observations with the PVS22..

Around 5x with a MR/T 2.5X8X36 NO IR USED...Will try the NXS 2.5X10X32 soon...

Around 5x with a MR/T 2.5X8X36 NO IR USED...Will try the NXS 2.5X10X32 soon...

I was thinking the ACOG and specter DR would be the ticket I never thought the MR/T leupolds would be better.. Now I have ACOGS AND SPECTER DR Socom for sale..

Well I'll tell you, the little MR/T is one of the most under rated scopes on the planet. To me, it is simply a little jewel. It seems to get some flack over not going down to a true 1X, but the illumination works well in low light to function in BAC mode quite well.
And in bright sunlight, the reticle stands out so that it works well then also, maybe not as good as a 1.5X ACOG, but close. And it has a terrific 5X.
I am fortunate that I suffer from little phoria, and with practice BAC works great for me, and that's with the TA11C 3.5X (best), TA55 5.5X (2cnd/3rd best), and the TA31 4X (as good as the TA55). I have all three of these ACOGs, never shot any of the others.
Many complain about the short eye relief of the TA31 series, but to me I'm not trying hard enough if the ACOG doesn't bump my shooting glasses now and then.
I am surprised the 24 doesn't work as well with the ACOGs, but that may be more a reflection of how good the MR/T is, than a shortcoming of the ACOGs.
Be looking forward to your observations with the Nightforce, I would expect it to be very good.
EDIT: I finally found this photo, my favorite of the PVS-22, mounted on my Krieger Recon with TA11C!

Can you zoom in with the camera phone? The Leupold MRTs do work really well with the PVS 24. In my opinion the 24 brings clip ons to low power scopes really well. I run one in front of the 2.5 to 8 as well and I LOVE this set up. I am going to try it on a Trijicon TR 24 1 to 4 and I will report on it's success or failure.
