I think he was commenting on the video guy but yes by extension would apply to @kortik also.
Kortik knows Communism and has also experienced the American dream.
I understand his Russian patriotism in the sense people here celebrate St Patrick's Day but his sympathies are not with the Commies.
I don't claim to know Russia's history but I know a lot more about it than the average American that knows so little about it they actually make people dumber when they try to speak on it.

What we are seeing is a weird invasion with one hand tied behind their back, political goals of sparing civilian lives and infrastructure will cost them far more grunts than it would in an unrestricted warfare thing. The last time far less capable force went into Chechnia they razed cities to the ground.

Grozny or Mosul,at present you hardly see civilian infrastructure damage everything still works downtown Kyiv lit like Christmas tree, electricity, water, rail nothing is out of commission, most damage so far is from stray Ukrainian Sams and shot down planes.

But what is interesting internationally is no one really wants this to end anytime soon, everyone seems to be busy pouring some more gasoline on the fire.

Living in Moscow circa 1988 I bought all the little souvenir pins celebrating the Great Patriotic War.
Sure just a few short years before 1941 Russians were starving Ukrainians en mass but once Hitler's Troops decided to treat Ukrainians like untermenscen a beautiful friendship was spawned.
Kiev, Kharkov, The Pripyat Marshes, Crimea, The Dnieper Battles....these were all place names dear to the Russians just as Lexington and Concord to us.
I don't think there is much stomach for laying waste what their grandfathers sacrificed so much to save.
Unlike us they haven't abandoned history to appease community organizers.

Somebody here mentioned that I'm pro-russian or something like that, as it supposed to indicate that I'm no good, while others defended me. The simple fact is that russian is my first language and I also understand ukranian. So, I get a lot more accurate info both from russian and ukranian channels on youtube as opposed to the garbage and total lies fed to Americans by idiot box (aka american TV). I perfectly understand what you're saying and I appreciate your desire to have more than one source of information in order to make up your mind.

on the other hand, ukraine did cut off crimea's main water supply after it was annexed, which has caused a lot of suffering for them.

As to if they did it? I can appreciate not wanting to spread false information which is why I said I merely read it. However, in the interest of confirming it, I went and found an image of the vehicles on the runway. You'll have to zoom in to see them but they are parked perpendicular down the runway. Just enough to prevent a large transport plane from landing Israeli style. Not enough to stop a determined landing but enough to not make it easy.
Its those little actions like that that can slowly grind an offensive to a crawl. 10-15 minutes of friction adding up across the entire operational planning cycle. These clever little delays start adding up to hours, which quickly turn into days.
All the media attention is on the Kiev offensive, perhaps because its closer to where the western journalists are based.
It is the Mariupol offensive that is really kicking off today that I am most interested in. If they take Mariupol and Berdiansk they link up with the Donbas front.
Will the Crimean units then move northwest to follow the southern side of the Dnieper towards Kiev or will they move north towards Kharkiv to cut off and encircle the more organized Donbas units in the East? Both simultaneously? or something else entirely?
