Eating crawfish didn't become a thing, until I got to college. Prior to that, it was just trot line bait. I still don't eat crawfish.Me to.... Waitin' on that answer. also.

Love me some shrimp cooked the same way, though!

The Hide is full of all kinds. Special permission is required though to enter the room behind the candy red naugahyde door where all the real magic happens.
Se Nota.Wait, I’m 60, and I’ve been eating crawfish since I was a kid.
Damnit, man! I just spit a burnt end across the restaurant!!!!

IDK. My family didn't know about it. We aren't Cajun, just red-neck.Wait, I’m 60, and I’ve been eating crawfish since I was a kid.
Were they purged before boiling? I can assume you eat the shit trail in them?Yeah I'ma going to say it.......crawfish taste like mud.....I don't care how much crab boil you use. Fight me idiots....
Most people don’t purge them long enough they just wash the mud off. Ive read the salt doesn’t clean them out like people think it’s they have nothing to eat and they shit over night that really cleans them. Were they purged before boiling? I can assume you eat the shit trail in them?

Well Mississippi’s whole populations IQ combined equates to a cucumber so..Have no idea how they were prepared. This was when I lived in Gulfport, Ms.
U gota purge dem multiple times, ie swap’n the water you keep’n dem in. U’s knows whens dey reade when dey don't brown da water. Lest dats wat moma said. Most people don’t purge them long enough they just wash the mud off. But who knows everyone has a different idea about it.
The real brown water is mud, not shit lolU gota purge dem multiple times, ie swap’n the water you keep’n dem in. U’s knows whens dey reade when dey don't brown da water. Lest dats wat moma said.

They claim it does, but there’s both camps. Had them both ways and it looked and tasted the same. It’s really the mudyou need to clean off.Btw the salt makes them vomit, which speed the process, as they expell anything else in their stomach. The pooping comes naturally.
I have likely never done this before...
Those Cajun's get all over the world... I normally shy away from Cajun cooking unless I'm in South Louisiana. Had a girl friend bring me to this place for a birthday meal. When I was there it was owned by two brother's from around Lafayette.... They brought good cookin' with them.Every restaurant I've had it at, it was damn good. I only eat the tails, can't bring myself to suck the guts out like I see some do.
I'm a sucker for any restaurant that says Cajun, only good stuff comes out. So far the best was a place in a strip mall on Maui.
NW Boy here. Visited Gulfport once on a business trip/motor drive startup on a new “Colle Towing” Tug. Very nice.......Have no idea how they were prepared. This was when I lived in Gulfport, Ms.
