Gunsmithing Is this the correct Devcon for action bedding?

Order is about $7 shipped so not bad. Is that the right stuff to bed a barreled action to a Boyds replacement stock?

I've used Devcon 10110. Worked perfectly.

Should work. But total strength will be less than the Devcon 10110 steel epoxy.

When comparing the small hardware store tubes, even of Devcon brand, the can of the 10110 always had a higher psi rating. I think the can has a higher ratio of powdered steel and uses less hardener, so it gives a denser surface.

I can only find Devcon 10110 in 1lb and I only need a few ounces. Does it come in the tubes by any chance?

I'm only familiar with the 10110 for bedding.....and only in 1 lb containers.

It doesn't come in tubes because it is a putty. 10110 is not a 1:1 mix ratio so there is less chance for shrinkage. Get the 1lb jar. It is very handy and lasts a long time.

What do you guys who don't own mills use for clean-up of the stock after the barreled receiver has been removed?

I have used that tube stuff. It works ok, but it flows a little and as said, may shrink more. If you are just doing a skim bed it will work ok. I do not recommend it for a full bed job.
As for the milling part, the key is to bridge off areas you don't want the epoxy to go to reduce the need for trimming. But there is almost always a little trimming needed. For that, a dremel with a sanding drum will fit the bill.
