After my SAKO gunsmith adventure I was going through old old old ammo I got from my grandpa years ago.

I pulled a bullet and it appears to be magnetic.

Is this a true steel core .30 cal? I would weigh it but my scales are at the shop.

I have like 200 of these things on “clips”

Yes Armor Piercing M1 Garand enblocs.

The penetrator is no joke.

It will pass through steel, stripping all the jacket, and the penetrator will come through looking unscathed.

30-06 AP is legal just about everywhere. Im in a pretty anti state and its exempt by name in our statutes. Pull those rounds and put them in a .308 case though you are in trouble.

PS - just looked at your pictures I believe Saint Louis 1952 ammo should be non corrosive but do a little research to confirm. Early 50s was the transition period when rifle primes were converted for the most part to non corrosive.

If they are corrosive dont worry about it just shoot them in a bolt gun at whatever steel you want to make look like swiss cheese than use a water based cleaner to remove the corrosive primer salts.

Yeah I dunno, I really do t have a use for them like “preppers” might. I might pull them and put them in a epoxy filled 308 and make some sick shot glasses from m203 casings I have.

I watch that HGTV bruh.

You need to get yourself a sewer cover and fire a few at it for effect.

It is pleasing to the soul and educational.

The M2AP I have played with in the past was tungsten, that one bullet with the crimp mark and the machined cannelure seems different from the others and not like M2AP I have used in the past the other 7 rounds looks like normal M2AP. you should see M2AP loaded in 300wm it's a lot of fun blows right threw 3/8" ar500.

A friends Dad, an old Marine and a Korean war Vet, gave me a whole ammo can full of those. These were FA-54 if I remember correctly. He trained with a M-1 and was surprised that I knew what they were.
