Rifle Scopes Is vortex a cheap quality company?

I have a crossfire red dot and a Viper PST Gen 2 3-15x44. Both regularly get put on rifles that get used and not "abused" per se, but they're definitely not on safe queen rifles. They hold zero and the PST tracks and returns to zero.

Based on what I've noticed, guys sell their Vortex stuff to buy new Vortex stuff.

i see alot of vortex scopes for sale and why is that is it because there cheap?
Cause i own a pair of Viper 10x42 binoculars from them and there cheap
So is it worth your money?
Yea viper is cheap but that’s also not their premier line... what do you expect? Also, cheap is a relative term. Viper binos are pretty nice to a guy that has the diamondback or crossfire binos, lol

you see a lot for sale because there’s so many out there

Vortex makes equipment across the price spectrum. In general their quality is as good as or better than you'd expect for the price. Whether it's worth the money depends on your budget, what you are doing with it, what else you are comparing. There's no way to give a blanket answer.

Their Razor and AMG lines are very high quality and can compete with (or beat) anyone short of the Alpha Class.

Vortex's customer service and warranty (across all lines) simply cannot be beaten.

They also have lower price point offerings for those with budgets.

I like them but still as of this present time have not purchases one of there scopes , but they have a great warranty and with there sales the way they are they have to be doing something correct . the few I have looked through looked ok to me just not in the mag ranges I want to pay for . I liked the pst and the razor , but not the pushy sales man but that is my beef with the person and not the companies fault . I liked there red dot have 3 of them and the one i had a problem with for get about it they replaced it with a new one just as fast as they could I was very happy with there speed and effort to make things right it was really nice to see the company stand behind there product . that's my 2 cents . good luck on what ever you decide

I see more vortex scopes and other optics at matches compared to other brands. Just because something is not in their premier line doesn't mean it's bad. Some food for thought, a lot of high level PRS shooters use razors gen 2s successfully, look on instagram and you'll see foreign fighters/ militia using strike eagles (and some photos of us sof using hueys, strike eagles, and razors). Was at a match not too long ago where one of the top finishers had a viper pst gen 2.

Which Vortex scopes are you referring to? The Crossfire line? Viper? AMG/Razor?

Are you having issues with your binoculars?

Hi,

So you have a pair of their binoculars and state they are cheap, but yet you would like other peoples opinions on whether they cheap or not?
Is someone else's opinion of the product you have going to change your mind or what?

Seriously not understanding here.....

Sincerely,
Theis

I am new to Precision Rifle shooting. I wanted a good scope to get started with but not something real expensive. I plan to upgrade my scope as my skills improve. I did a lot of research and the Vortex brand seemed to have good reviews. I bought a Viper HST 6-24X50 for a little over $600. I am very happy with it for now. I will probably move up to a Razor later on unless I learn of another brand I like better.

OP - we can tell that you are a man of discerning tastes. Not having time to trifle with inferior optics I would recommend you skip straight to the good stuff.

A little industry secret we’ll let you in on since you haven’t had time to google any reviews or even do a forum search on this topic.

Tasco, yes Tasco! Made in the same factory just a different label on them. But don’t tell anyone else, it’ll be our little secret, one professional to another

C’mon Maddog! COME ON. Hone those effing mad research skillz and slobber some kRaZy! mad foam all over!

Soon the seas of Quigly Fords, Vortexs, Tascos, and your effing foam will part, and lo’, there will stride the optical colossus that be the mighty SIMMONS WHITËTAILÉ CLASSIQUĘ!!!

Come on @Rerun7... it's not your secret anymore! I've heard Tasco is the way to go... if you look hard you can find deals where they must have accidentally moved the decimal point. Snatch up those deals fast! See. Tasco for $48... when it should be priced like the Swarovski!

All jokes aside. I have a Razor Gen2 and a PST. Very happy with both this far. Bought them both off of various reviews and backed up by their customer service and warranty (although haven't needed it).

Also bought an Athlon Cronus. Another quality optic for the money.

well i compared them to a pair of leupold BX-3 Mojave 10x42mm and the leupold were clearer and brighter
and for the same price i already owned the vortex vipers

sorry for offending anyone

I have a Razor gen II , viper PST gen 2,and a diamondback 4x12. Razor is great, PST very good. One day I was out shooting used my Razor first then picked up my rifle with the diamondback on it thought I needed Cadillac surgery looking through the diamondback.

Hi,

Should have bought a BMW instead of that Cadillac......

Cadillac surgery sounds quite invasive; what is the survival rate and recovery time? Also, I’d stay away from those Diamondbacks...very poisonous....

I’ve been here long enough to know that there will always be someone out there in the abyss that will fill the void for our entertainment. Really though this wasn’t even a quality troll. I give it a 6 out of 10, and that only for the feigned innocence.

Go straight to the top !
Nothing wrong in buying a second hand one too.
Shooters don't throw them in the back of their pick-up trucks !
Aim for the Khales, S&B, ZCO and you wont need to buy and resell 2 or 3 times.
Make sure you pick a reticle you will like/use.

Go for the gold and you'll be smiling each time you put your eye behind it !
:devilish:

Cadillac surgery is fine as long as they don't replace anything with Saab parts.
My CTS had a few but I put GM stickers on them and they worked fine after that.

Now, if you already have Cadirracks, might I suggest replacing them with a Rincon Contirental.
??

Man, stickers solve so many problems!

OP could dramatically improve those Vortex binos with some Leupold stickers. A cheap and easy fix.
