Is your WI-FI or other password on this list?

Needing out on a lazy Saturday. It seems that there are lists of passwords.

Some hackers will run a program that just tries a bunch of passwords...

One might say to sort the list to see if your password is on the list
Or maybe search for the first 5 of your password and then scroll from there...

Here are some lists with a shit ton of common passwords

If you don’t yet have 2 factor authentication on all your banking / finance stuff- it might be time to do so

If you don’t have a long pass phrase... it might be time to update your passwords
(After running anti virus and anti spyware/ malware programs)

Thanks I needed a list of convenient passwords.. every month or so micro soft tells me I have to log in “because of suspicious activity” they won’t let me use any of my old passwords and I can only find so many ways to say fuk u micro soft. Jk

Hi,

Did you all really click those links lol?
GitHub is where hackers and wannabe hackers go to practice writing code.

Sincerely,
Theis

Unfortunately, yes! I didn’t pay attention. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. The list is probably made from poor souls that click the link. Good news is I was on a phone and it simply said the list was too big to show! So, I’m praying it didn’t actually open anything. Anyone know how dangerous this was or what I can do now to protect my iPhone 7+?

If you rely on a single password you will eventually be screwed. Bad guys hack into the weakest sites, crack the passwords and then test them against many other sites to see what they can get into. This is highly automated. The best practical defense is to use a password manager (like LastPass) and use it to set a unique random password for every site.

After you do this, even if they hack one, it doesn't get them anywhere else. And - yes, turn on two factor authentication everywhere where it is supported, especially your email account since email access can be used to recover access to other sites (for you or the bad guy).

Yeah, I don’t ever use the same passwords and most of them are strong but if my phone has been hacked then I’m fucked as it has never been backed up. Only thing to save me would be a full reset and a password change on every site. Why the fuck would any of you guys post shit like this?

I had a neighbor that kept trying to steal my wifi, I setup another network with an easy password. It had a never ending redirect to some disgusting porn sites. His wife was bitching to my wife about what she found in the web history. It was awesome.
