over the past year i have collected parts and built a full kidd 22, (no stock parts left) bedded in a boyds pro varmint. i went a real roundabout way, replacing parts as i could rather than buying a barreled action. My issue now is feeding; i have tried half a dozen types of ammo, new mags, old mags, all three recoil springs, and i am still having feed issues. is there anything i can do or do i contact Kidd?

It struggles to feed the first round and shaves bullets almost every time. This not only causes feed issues, but super inconsistent groups past 25 yards. I think it is clearly an alignment issue, but not sure how it happened. Seems like the feed angle is too steep.

Have tried Wolf match extra, SK Pistol match, SK Rifle match, cci green tag, aguila gold eagle match, and some bulk box ammo. It doesn't really seem to matter what i use, it all struggles to seat the first round all the way to battery and then chokes eventually. everything seems to eject fine, but the feed is killing me.

I'd rule out a magazine issue if multiple mags produce the same results. Is it a Kidd trigger housing or a Ruger with a Kidd parts kit...I'd look to swap trigger housings first and check for any burrs on the chamber carefully.

I am having the same issue with my complete barreled action from Kidd, not as severe, but same symptoms, shaved/deformed bullets when the FTF happens.
Contacted Kidd, was told to try different ammo and magazines. When I told them I had tried 10 different magazines and listed the type of ammunition I had tried, they are sending me a new barrel to try. The new barrel is on its way. Hopefully this will fix it

I was having feeding issues and spent an hour in my garage with the rifle clamped into a tripod, cycling ammo through it while testing different pressure on the front and back of the magazines. I found with my 15 rounders that 2-3 layers of duck tape over the little bump in the back. My issue was the magazine did not have enough upward angle, and this helped address it.

I will see if I can shim mags. I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you.

Lame! I may be on that boat here shortly. Curious to know if it fixes the issue.

What barrel are you using? Mine is 18” fluted, threaded.
