You do realize that would have been palatable to most conservatives only a decade or so ago (it was pretty much a campaign plank in 2008 and 2012). Gotta remember that not everyone was able to whip-saw 180º in the half-dozen years since Trump's victory; that's a pretty short period of time in human terms.
