Looking at possibly purchasing one of these for a truck gun! Would it be your choice? Not looking at spending over 2 grand . Would appreciate your thoughts.

I had one for a little bit. Took it on trade for something i was having a hard time selling. I played with it a while. It seemed to be a well made, reliable gun. I sold it because i was really wanting cash, but i kinda wish i still had it. It's crazy short and handy which would make it a good truck gun or home defense gun.

A bit expensive for a truck gun.
Cool looking rifles, but the factory trigger is pretty awful.

Yeah, the trigger is definitely not a geissele, haha. To me it felt like a good pistol trigger, which would generally make it a bad rifle trigger. After hearing everyone talk about how bad they are, my expectations were so low i guess i was pleasantly surprised. Also, I've shot milspec ar triggers that were as bad or worse.

Snipe, I’ve got the SAR, forerunner to the x95. The stock trigger is long and heavy, but there are aftermarket options that make it much better. I really like the rifle for what it is. Every time I start thinking about building an AR pistol, I open the safe, pick up the TAVOR, and just buy more ammo. With can attached it’s still shorter than my 16” AR with the stock collapsed.

It’s not a precision rifle by any stretch, but it’s better than a lot of folks claim. I have a 3x ACOG on it and can easily hit the 20” steel circle at 300 at my local range, offhand and kneeling. It’s not a bench gun though. It really likes heavier projos and loves my 75gr Hornady bthp over 24.0g Varget load.

I recently picked up an X95 and here's my impression/opinion. I had on original SAR several years ago and while compact and maneuverable, the stock trigger was horrible and at the time I wasn't keen on the difference in manual of arms. I ended up selling it for more than I paid. I've always been a fan of bullpup designs and when they released the X95 I decided that I'd own one but other projects / wants always pushed it back on my priority list. Recently I was given the opportunity to pick one up for dirt cheap so I jumped on it.

The X95 has addressed several of the small issues I had with the original Tavor including a much better trigger. Maneuverability is excellent and it lends itself well to CQB type situations. It will definately take training to acclimate to reloading / malfunction clearance but not difficult, just lots of practice.

While I buy / trade / sell guns quite frequently, my X95 will remain in my collection. It is a definite keeper and I'd highly recommend it as longs as you know are willing to accept the differences inherent to the design and new manual of arms vs a standard AR.

    I say go for it.

Something simpler and much less expensive is an AR pistol with a brace like the SBa3, not much longer than a Tavor, 1/2 the price for a decent one and in most states you can carry it loaded under your concealed carry permit. I have one with the folding LAW and it is small enough to keep in a small backpack or small computer bag for discrete carry. However it only has a 10" barrel versus the longer barrel of the tavor. I also like how I can customize it.

I've owned a X95 since they were released. it's been used in a few club 2/3 gun matches, etc.
    100% reliable, though I don't run steel cased/combloc ammo.

accuracy is just ok, a much less expensive AR is probably going to yield better results off the bench, but from 1 to 200 w/o bench/bipod I would use it with confidence.
the trigger isn't great, unless you compare it to an Aug, then it is. I don't know that I would purchase one as a truck gun - I say that totally from a cost perspective. While I still prefer my Aug, I have no plans to get rid of my X95 unless times got really tough.

I haven't built an AR pistol yet - the clarity regarding the federal & state laws on braces still worries me, and bullpups for now fill the bill for an ultra compact 5.56 that are accurate enough.

Love mine, had an original Tavor and the trigger is better o the X95, but as others have said, you can make something pretty small if you go the brace route. Heck stick a law tactical folding adapter with a brace on a 300blk 8.5” pistol and you’ve got a nice little package easily under budget with extra $ for ammo.

But the x95 certainly would serve you well!

Xm, what would be other good recommendations ! I’ve just been a bolt gun guy! I have a Ai and desert tech . That poor trigger may make me go another route.

for a truck gun, I'd get a decent cheap AR platform rifle. You'd spend about half as much and then can upgrade triggers or anything else you want. If you build one up, you might be able actually fit a decent trigger into a low price.
