The sear might not be holding the firing pin back far enough for the notch on the side of the firing pin that the safety arm rotates into. Not an expensive fix but definitely has to be done by someone who knows their stuff

Looking at it I think your exactly right, the notch on the cocking piece looks like it needs to be shallower. Can this be built up or does it have to be replaced?
