Gunsmithing Jewell trigger for Rem 700, where to buy?

I have been thinking about doing something with the trigger on my SPS for quite some time. I have come to the conclusion that I might as well just spend some money on a new one.

My problem is this; I am not in the US, so I am having trouble finding a seller that is willing to sell me one.

I would prefer to buy from one of the supporters of SH, but at this point I'll give anyone a shot.

Re: Jewell trigger for Rem 700, where to buy?

Thanks for the input, but I sort of have my mind set on a Jewell. Tried one on the range the other day, and I sort of fell in love with it. The feel of it was superb!

Anyone have an e-mail address to Jewell, I cannot find this listed anywhere.

What are the issues in shipping international? If it isn't too involved I have a Jewell I would sell.

Re: Jewell trigger for Rem 700, where to buy?

The last time I had this problem buying from the US was when I tried to buy a Nightforce scope. NF policy prohibits the export of their scopes for trade reasons, so nobody would ship it to me. I'm guessing it's the same with Jewell.

Hit me up with a PM with the details, I'm interested.

Take a look in Target Rifle Magazine out of the UK. The mag is on line and there are a boatload of dealers who could help you out.

Midway does indeed have Jewell triggers on their Norwegian site. With the listed price at approx $650 USD, Midway can go fuck themselves. The main reason for buying this item in the US is that the price is reasonable.

I'll check out the online mag, but I'd like to avoid the UK VAT. It's a 15 % markup, and I get no refund for it. Hence, again, the reason for trying to find this trigger in the US is the price.

I have the same problem getting stuff from USA so now I get my buddies to either buy stuff and send it or I collect and carry back in my luggage.

If you are really stuck I will see how soon I could get one sent, Unfortunately I have a friend in Baltimore returning to the UK on Friday but dont think there is enough time to guarantee him getting it

Re: Jewell trigger for Rem 700, where to buy?

Deal fell through.

Seems that triggers are restricted for export, so looks like I'm fucked...

To bad because I really wanted one.

If you know some international shop that has them for a reasonable price, please feel free to let me know.

If this will be your first Jewell trigger you need to know they can be VERY expensive!

Because after you have a rifle with one Jewell you will want a Jewell on everything you own.

Re: Jewell trigger for Rem 700, where to buy?

Just called and talked to Jewell, no joy! They would not ship internationally.

They did give me a lead on another German who sells these. Their price is 324 Euros ($432). That is included the 19% VAT that I get no refund for.

So if I import this puppy from Germany, it will set me back;
Trigger: $432
Shipping: $20
Norwegian VAT (25%): (432+20)x0,25 = $113
Grand Total: $565

Fuck me that is a handsome figure for a trigger.

F-Midway..they have been raising their prices faster than the post office - and I have a dealer account!!!

Have you thought about making a friend over here, who can purchase and send over there?

Re: Jewell trigger for Rem 700, where to buy?

I am not familiar with RPA, but they sure look colorful. There wasn't much info on their website, So I could not see if their triggers come with bolt release or not. They have one with safety, but i need both.

Are they as easy to install as the Jewell, or do they require a gunsmith to adjust the fit?

I believe they are available with both a safety and bolt release. We have been installing them ourselves. Worse case is you will need to open the trigger opening.

Here is a site that makes the trigger in the USA. It has some additional information.
