Jewell trigger in a b14 trainer

kissofdeath tried it and he couldn’t get the trigger pull down as low as he wanted. Apparently the spring in the Bergara keeps it from going below a pound. If you look his B14 range report you will see his feedback on it.

Hi!

I put a Jewell HVR in my B14R and it works very well! No hard closing, everything feels as smooth as it did before. I've shot about 150 rounds today, flawless. With the pre-installed trigger spring I'm currently at round about 1.75 oz! And it's safe, I can bang on the stock from any direction I want, the trigger does not release. I didn't do a drop test, though....

I have it setup with the least overtravel possible. Granted I have pretty beat up mechanics fingers, but I can't feel any movement in the trigger blade, it's like operating a super-defined touch screen. I put my finger on the trigger and then all I have to do to let the shot break is the slightest muscle effort. There's no mushyness, no movement - it breaks on command. On all my other rifles I have two-stage triggers, this is my first single stage trigger. And I like it! 1.75 oz is very light, but that's what I'm used to from air rifles.

It's hard to put into words (english is not my native language), I think "like a touch screen" would be a good description. You lower your finger on the trigger blade and when you think about releasing the shot - it goes. For shooting for precision of a bench I like it a lot!

As mentioned - it's the first single stage trigger for me. But I like it! My use for this rifle is exclusively precision shooting of a bench, for this type of shooting it feels excellent.

Installation was easy, the trigger housing was a very tight fit into the Bergara receiver. But didn't require any mods. I bought the trigger without safety, so I can't tell if the safety fits the Bergara stock.

I have over 2,000 rounds on mine - Simply faultless & currently set at 10 oz with the heavy spring. Every bit as good as the TT Diamond in my Vudoo.
