Re: Jim Cloward stock

Greetings,

Scott,
I sanitized them after you handled the damn things. You made a mess...
There is a more descriptive post in the Gunsmithing "Perfection" thread. The red and black stocked one is a .284 Win, the Walnut stocked beauty is in 6mmBR and the Blue and black is my Palma rifle (.308 win).
The fixture on the fore-end is indeed a handstop. Someone always asks about the black ring on the barrels. They are plumbing O-rings for keeping the mirage band secure.

Tanks Guys,
John

Re: Jim Cloward stock

Greetings,
Negative on the bedding blocks. They utilize a Rem style recoil lug and are conventionally bedded. I had a Mastin stock (with bedding block) for 3 years. They are cool and repeatable. Aluminum wears, especially when you are using the cap screw that is suppled as a recoil lug. Not alot of surface area. My only complaint about the Barnard actions is the lack of an integral bedding lug. But... I have three of them and they are the best shooting action I have ever used / fielded.
Take care,
John

Ya we had a mirage band post somewhere too. I think I had about $4.00 invested in Mirage bands...they work well.

Maybe I should get *Redman to invent a "tacticool" mirage band kit...

Re: Jim Cloward stock

Joe,
You need to buy stock in a barrel business with those 6mm AI's... Worse than my 6.5x284's were, hence the .284 for my LR rifle these days.
Hope all is well,
See ya
