Getting ready to order a JP AR15. Going through their rifle builder app, I see that some models have billet receivers and others are forged. While I understand the difference between billet and forged, I'm wondering if the billet option is worth the extra $500 on the base price.

What are the real world performance/accuracy differences between the two?

I have several forged JP rifles and one billet side charge model and cannot tell any advantage in accuracy. When I spoke to JP rep. They stated that there was no difference in accuracy. You cannot go wrong with either, both are great products!

I have two of each. All are very accurate. The billet receivers are so smooth when you cycle the carrier/bolt assembly. The billet sets also are a little heavier.
I have always been interested in the fitment of JPs Billet vs Forged, for example my PSC-12 receiver set fits incredibly tight together and have no play upper to lower. I am curious how well the forged sets fit together and if you use one of each for example a forged lower with the billet upper and how tight that fitment is?

So the fit is really the same between the billet and the forged. Also, Much better than my other Ar’s.
