July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

OK, so the ATF allowed 96 firearms to go into the wrong hands, but they recovered over 591 from the "project"? So the numbers of guns that actually were transferred is...?

Disturbing, but doesn't surprise me. Sounds like basis of a made-for-TV movie.

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

As I read it, they allowed well over 1,000 firearms to fall into the wrong hands. This report is so stunning as to be inconceivable. I just read it and literally finished with "Holy Shit" to myself. This isn't ATF bashing, US Government bashing or any comment on the current administration. I am, literally, just stunned that a group of people could have gotten together and all agreed that any ANY of this was a good idea. Wow!

IMHO..this came from much higher up in the food chain. There is no way the AG and Presidential sub commity didn't know about this.

And therein lies the problem. Ultimately, we know where the buck stops, and it can't go there, at least not here.

Actually the connection has already been made. Reported by CBS today. Testimony makes the connection in the first 2 sentences of the article. Here's the link:

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

The connection has been made all the way to the top (news reported that POTUS had knowledge going back at least one year) which could make a case for impeachment, or so said the news. I've been following this pretty close I'm only bummed that it hasn't became more prevalent in the news.

The news reported that well over 1000 arms were sold through this program to straw buyers.

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

It will make it to the top soon enough. There is now way this is getting swept under the rug with the NRA watching.

That would be completely impossible. They screamed at gun shows and gun shops supplying ALL of the guns to the cartels because the peaceful nature of the unarmed Mexican people. Now comes the FACT that our government supplied weapons with your tax dollars to a cartel in Mexico and other drug lords that have killed thousands of Mexican government officials, judges, women, and children. Last but not least the FACT that AT LEAST one was used to murder a border patrol officer.
The gun show issue is off the table in my opinion. The gun store issue is off the table. Anyone involved should at the very least have his or her employment with our government terminated.

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

And what if we get a moment of "go for broke" lunacy and the unconstitutional EOs start coming down hot and heavy in retribution before this gets settled out as far as the stink is gonna' waft upwards?

This could get like ugly on an ape.

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

My theory is that the anti-gun movement benefits from reports when US originated weapons are use in crimes commited in Mexico. How better to fuel that then to inject Mexico with weapons. I always had a difficult time beleiving that the cartels would rather have my semi auto ARs and AKs, when black market prices for Full auto weapons from other countries are much cheaper and effective.

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

Heard some of the testimony today on the radio. This is either HUGE incompetence or extreme levels of corruption at the highest level. This should be bigger than Iran-Contra because it involves our borders.

Re: July 26th - Fast & Furious Congressional Report

I'm sure a certain woman who supports the UN Arms treaty was well aware of this action. I'd be willing to bet the Brady campaign was briefed on this operation at some point?

This means our government is directly involved in the murder of several innocent people? Where is the accountability?
