This has been my first day off that it hasn't rained, nor the wind blow 30 mph, and the sun was actually shining. I just had to take advantage of today's weather. My score's reflect just how rusty I've gotten in the last 5-6 weeks or so. It was sure nice today.

Re: JUNE 2011 SH SHORT RANGE RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Picked a good day to shoot. Early this Saturday morning at 7:00 AM, it was already 86 degress, but the wind was minimal at 2-3 mph and fairly constant from the 5 o'clock.

I knew the rifle could do it and I thought I could as well, with a little more practice. I have fired three practice rounds on this target in the last two weeks and decided this morning was the first day without moderate to high winds so I gave it a run.

First shot on stage 5 worried me, but I stayed focused and finished the last two shots. When I checked the target it did break the line. I ran an empty case through it to be sure and that is why the hole looks so "perfectly" round. When I took a picture with the case in the hole the line did not show, so I just pulled the case out and shot the pic. I was both relieved and elated.

This match is more challenging than I would have guessed. This is my first time officially submitting a score here and I really enjoyed it. I lost my nerve for the 1/4" dot after dropping the shot on 9 and popping one out of the group. Choked again on the last one.

I haven't yet been able to get real comfortable behind this gun. I have it in a Boyd's tactical and somehow this stock feels small. Probably I just need a LOT more practice

New ammo this month. Didnt adjust for new ammo on CBS and it was low 1". Im just happy I over 200 after shooting a 40 last month and a 185 the month before. Consist consistant
smile.gif

Finally done with ammo testing and settled with Lapua Center X. I found it shoots a little better than SK Rifle Match, which is the equivalent of Wolf MT, and really started shooting well after about 25 rounds. Was really happy with the score. Next month, CLEAN!! ha...

Re: JUNE 2011 SH SHORT RANGE RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Quick question, i know i can only shoot each match once, but can i shoot the 4 position match at 25 and again at 50 and report both? or do i have to pick only one of the distances per month?

No, each the 25 and the 50 4P is a separate match so you can shoot both and report scores for both each month. If you wish you can also enter each match in support side (weak arm) if you wish.

Re: JUNE 2011 SH SHORT RANGE RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Yep ^ that too, I completely forgot to mention. So, you could enter up to 12 different scores per month if you really wanted to as far as 4P comps go. That's alot of trigger time

June had a few new shooters join in, a big welcome to TEXASPLINKER, KNOCKEMDOWN, and CATRONRO. Congrats to AQUATIC_ROBOTIC for shooting a clean TRC, and to everyone the got the top spots on their matches. Remember it's not about winning as much as it is learning something new or enhancing your skills.

With July coming up, let's give a "<span style="color: #FF0000">Happy</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF">Birthday</span> <span style="color: #3366FF">America</span>" and give thanks that we are able and allowed to do what we do and remember that as we bear arms that it is also a "double sweet" holiday.
