i've seen how to paint it for the most part but alot of the tut skip on how you prep the stock for painting, best way to strip the paint off it? should i do a little bit of sandpaper? or should i just paint over the current coat?

use a fine abbrassive paper...1,200 grit or so to roughen it up. Wipe everything down with acetone to remove any oils. If you haev access to an air hose, blow it all off. keep it dust free, before, during and after painting until its cured

The factory paint is very tough, so don't try to remove it - you'll only waste your time and risk damage to the stock. Just roughen it with some medium-grit sandpaper (240, 320 or thereabouts) or a similar Scotchbrite pad, blow or vacuum away the dust, wipe it with some degreaser and a lint-free cloth, and you should be set. You basically want the surface to have some "tooth", but not any deep scratches.

1200 grit ain't gonna roughen up anything - that's getting pretty close to polishing.

Love Manners for this service! After I sand and fit the rear tang on my builds, or if I damage a few spots during bedding, send it back to them. All the do is charge me shipping back, and sometimes they dont even do that.

Sure beats spending $1000 to get set up to spray Polane in two colors
