I just picked this up yesterday. The prices online are insane right now for presses. Anyway was wondering if anyone has any items pertaining to this press that they would like to part with. I bought it from the guy he said its set up to load .45 acp and .308. So I would think caliber conversion kits. I don't know. Anyone that knows anything about this press please let me know. Thank you.

Hit the reloading tools section of
Ar15.com Equipment-Exchange lots of stuff for dillon presses there too.

    Best of luck

So to be more clear it’s a Dillon RL 500B. It’s not the square b deal. You tell me what you guys think? No it’s not attached yet. I just pulled it out of the box and got it on the stand. However when I pull the handle it doesn’t index. Thanks.

Maybe someone in here has one to offer?
Dillon wants more then $50 for that aluminum tray. Most people don't have extras.

I actually have one.....$30 plus actual shipping?

I mounted a Redding press in a Strong Mount long before Inline Fabrication was around. Like a week ago I made an Akro Bin setup that works better for that press. It is a worthy upgrade for the 550, which is why I originally bought it to try with my Redding.

Well for starters, you do have a 550B. Here is a link to the manual and you can download it from Dillon. Lot's of good information in there.

    https://dilloncdn.com/manuals/dillon-rl550c-manual-english.pdf

If he said you can load 308/ 45, then you have a conversion with Shell plate 1, #1 pins and a B powder funnel, as well as an E powder funnel. B is for 30 cal rifle, E is for 45 pistol.

In the back of the manual, there is a list of conversions available. It also shows some of the cross references, say you want to load 9mm and 40 S&W. They use the same shell plate, just different pins and powder funnels.

Once you figure out what calibers you want to load with it, then we can point you toward conversions you can use.

One suggestion is for each caliber, you can buy a quick change kit. Comes with a stand, toolhead, powder die and powder measure. Then you can set it for that caliber and just change it out when needed and not have to reset everything. At least buy toolheads to get your dies set, you can swap the powder measure easy enough.

That's what is so great about this place. That's a bargain, OP should jump on that.

I have been using a Dillon for 40+ years, started out as a 450, upgraded to a 550, then two years back it started to show wear , sent it to Dillon to be gone through, and they sent me back a brand new 550b free! I highly suggest the bullet tray as well, also the other upgrade that holds another plastic bin in front of the completed round bin that will hold brass for you, speeds up the process. Enjoy!
