Well it will officially be my new sidearm when she's properly broken in.

Double Star Dragon 1911. No MiM parts (many parts are machined by them at their facility just 30 miles from my house), and lots of high quality 3rd party parts (the ones that aren't machined by them) such as Ed Brown memory grip safety, Greider trigger, Novak sights and magazine (8+1), national match stainless barrel, et al. Comes with 1 mag and a really nice custom 5.11 bag. Though not my gun, here's a pic of it (mine looks exactly the same).

Re: Just picked up my new side arm

Interesting..... I had heard that they were making 1911's, though I had yet to see one.

Do you know anymore about them? IE, will they do custom stuff/who made the frame/slide, etc?

Hope they are great..... Doublestar are good peeps and deserve a little credit.

Re: Just picked up my new side arm

They make both the frame and slide in house (forged steel). I know that they will do a couple of custom things, like alternate grips and night sights, but I don't think that they do any "technical" custom work (trigger jobs for instance).

You can call them up and talk to them. They are VERY helpful and willing to answer any questions you have.

For a 1911 with all machined parts (no MiM), that is not a bad price at all. </div></div>

Looks like a great gun at a great price to me.

I would swap out the arched MSH for a flat one, add a mag well, and call it good. I prefer a skeletonized hammer, too, so I might switch to that as well.
