I got a set of these. I put them on a Harris. They were QUITE tight. I ended up easing the edges of the Harris legs and using grease. They were so tight I didn't even bother putting the roll pins in. Is this normal? Not that it matters at this point.

If you didn't use the roll pin(s) how did you keep the internal spring(s) in place?

"Vince, the issue we've seen recently on some Harris legs, they are slightly out of round from their cutting process. You can put a slight chamfer on the leg and heat the podmod (boiling water) and they'll slip on. It's only been an issue on about 10% of harris's. If we opened up the hole slightly, the other 90% would complain about them being too loose.

I totally understand manufacturing variances. I was not claiming it was a bad product. I was just making sure I wasn't missing a step. There were, however, no instructions included. There really wasn't a need. Install was straight forward. Totally worth the $37 to have Atlas feet on a Harris.

The best thing about them is they flex a bit when you load them. So when you feel that flex you have loaded it enough. Keep loading and they slide. Thats the best part IMHO
I didn't have that experience. Mine were so tight that I skipped the roll pins the holes didn't line up and using a padded vice and vice grips I couldn't get the two to turn. I doubt if it will be a problem not having a roll pin.
I found that when i loaded the rifle I could feel a bit of a flex. That was money, I have two sets for two different rifles and it was the same on both.... hummm.
