Suppressors Kahr PM9

Re: Kahr PM9

Those of you carrying one, which holster do you use? I'm deff going to need a pocket holster (as that is the main intent for this pistol), could perhaps even put an IWB to use.

Re: Kahr PM9

I use a FIST thin Kydex IWB:

Re: Kahr PM9

Bear in mind that Fist holsters in thin Kydex have to be considered wear items.
I broke two in about a year (KelTec .32); they fractured along the stitching.
They replaced the first; after the second I went back to Don Hume leather.

Re: Kahr PM9

I was looking at the Don Hume and Mitch Rosen for IWB- used both before. But of course I am open to others. Anyone pocket carry their PM9?

Re: Kahr PM9

I've got an IWB Com-Tac Minotaur for my PM40. I liked it so much I got another for my winter EDC, a G38. Fully loaded (5-rd mag +1), the Kahr weighs 1.25 lbs it absolutely disappears in the Minotaur after about five minutes wear.

Great minds think alike!....Same holster I use, works great!! Even had it on when I was in my motorcycle accident and it never moved. *I was wearing a belt and was snug..still impressed with how well it held in place.*

Re: Kahr PM9

When I still had my PM9 I carried in a Ross Pocket Holster, never tried carrying any other way. Conceals nicely in pocket, if thats where you intend on carrying.

Re: Kahr PM9

You can surely spend a lot more, but I can't see why! I wear mine IWB in a Highnoon Holsters "Mister Softy"

They are a stocking item with no wait time, around $32 shipped, and it simply disappears! I love mine! As far as pocket carry, hope you got some big pockets. I wasn't able to make it work, it's just a tad too big for me in the pocket.

Re: Kahr PM9

The crossbreed supertuck is the best IWB holster - bar none. I've had everything from cheap uncle mike's stuff to Milt Sparks bolsters I've waited half a year for. I never would have even looked at the Crossbreed, but i got one with a used PM40 I bought so i gave it a try. It's ugly as sin, but it is the most functional holster I've ever had. Excellent retention and it DOES NOT MOVE after you put it on. A fair amount cheaper than the custom leather makers also.

Check them out.

I agree, the Crossbreed is a great holster. I use one with my XD9SC and another with my 1911. In a few minutes I don't even remember I have a gun on. They are that comfortable.

Re: Kahr PM9

The DOA trigger takes a bit to get used to but it is extremely smooth and consistent. The pistol itself is very very accurate! I was highly impressed with it in that regard. And yes in a good holster it is small and thin, and basically disappears when carrying it! I love mine on both accounts! You simply can't go wrong for a subcompact sized 9mm!

Re: Kahr PM9

A friend of mine just got one and noticed a few things. First, his groups tight but low and left. Second, with no round in, firing it seems to set the slide a bit different on the frame, like it snaps down a bit.

Has anyone else noticed these things with theirs? He's concerned the two are associated. I think he's not used to the trigger, but he swears a demo gun didn't shoot low and left for him.

Re: Kahr PM9

I've been carrying my Kahr PM40 as my primary CCW for many years. I carry it in a Galco Stow N Go holster. I tried several others that I did not like. It is very secure, and can be easily taken off and put back on with the belt clip. The other holsters mentioned above are also very similar to the Galco. I originally qualified with a PM9. I liked it so much I had to get the PM40. While waiting for a cease fire at a gun range, I shot a 5 round group at 100 yards with it into 11". Aiming at the head, POI was just below the neck. So, it is a very accurate pistol for a 3" barrel carry gun.

On a reliability note- after about 1000 rounds, you will need to replace the guide rod and springs. After about 1200 rounds, I started having major feeding and extraction issues. I spoke to Kahr, and they said their springs are only good for about 1K rounds. I have replaced the springs twice since, and it functions 100%. This is also for the PM40. The 9mm may be a little different.

Since round capacity is only 6, I now carry my G29 in 10mm. I like the extra power and extra mag capacity. I do notice the G29 more with the added weight, but the added size doesn't seem to be any more cumbersome.

That's also what my LGS (a 1-man shop) wears. He's plumb fond of it, too.

I had problems with the slide failing to lock back after the last round before I wore out a recoil spring. There's a metal nub on the side of the magazine follower that wears down and allows this to happen. Kahr sells magazine rebuild kits to fix it.

I really want to shoot one..

Re: Kahr PM9

I have the PM40 as well, carry it with me everywhere. For now I just have a cheapie Tagua IWB/OWB holster. It works fine, but the metal clip is fairly weak metal, and I don't like how it tends to catch the shirt/jacket if you draw quickly. A friend has a Crossbreed, and loves it. Carries his Beretta 92 in it, and swears by its comfort/concealability. As far as the pistol itself goes, mine won't empty a full magazine with Remington UMC, but it shoots Hornady Critical Defense flawlessly, as well as Winchester white box. Have a box of Federal I'm going to put through it soon. It's just recently past the factory-stated 300 round break in period, so most of the hiccups I was experiencing when I first got it have disappeared. One thing I just noticed however, is that upon squeezing the trigger (empty chamber), the whole slide moves. The rear of the slide squats down. Not sure if that is normal or not, and the slide to frame fit is a bit loose. Accuracy seemed acceptable for what it's intended for, but I'm no crack shot either, and haven't shot it off a rest. Overall though fairly pleased with it.

Re: Kahr PM9

I've carried the MK9(same size as the PM9) for years in the Galco Ankle Light. Galco link
Don’t knock it till you try it. The weight does disappear. I truly think its the most comfortable carry option I've used.

Re: Kahr PM9

The new Desantis Sof Tuck could be an option with custom cant.....

I use an MTAC and it's good, but a Soft Tuc or similar style works better for me personally and is less to screw with for on/off etc.

Re: Kahr PM9

Anither High Noon fan here, I just got a CW45 and was happily surprised to find that it fits perfectly in my 3" 1911's Nr Softy (for AIWB) and Bare Asset (same as Mr Softy, but with 15* cant).

For $32 and having it within a week you CANNOT beat their stuff!!
