Is Karsten still around and doing buisness?

I found his site, and would like to order a cheek rest, but dont see how to order one. Most of the talk I searched out here on the Hide about them was from 2 years ago.

I hope to get one while I am deployed and have money kicking around to splurge on stuff for my guns at home.

Its to go on a Rem 700 SPS Tac .308 that I put in a Choate stock.

Any help would be much appreceated.

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

Got one in last month. They are excellent quality.

If you won't be adjusting it often then I suggest the bolts not the knobs. Those knobs are friggin' huge.

Don't mind the bolt notch. I screwed up and mounted it too far forward and had to notch it for bolt removal. It works great though. It took about five minutes to install and we actually did it on the range.

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

Ok thanks for the info guys.

I emailed him, i guess when I looked at his site, I was looking for links to order forms and the like.

Maybe I'll ask if i can pay extra for bolts and knobs, try both out.

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

I bought mine off of E-Bay and it rocks. I put it on my Rem700 .223, it fit great on my HS Precision stock. Very easy install and super comfortable...very affordable as well!

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

Just ordered my cheekrest.

Karsten emailed me back I think the same buisness day I emailed him, hard to tell when I'm in the big sandbox.

Either way that a class act.

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

I just got the type B model for my 22 trainer.

Make sure that you drill the holes as straight as possible. Mine did not line up perfectly and I had to ream them out a little.

The finished product is great though. My comfort factor on the rifle improved dramatically.

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

i have a toaster oven. i just wrapped my kydex holster in foil to keep it clean and set the oven at 200* and creeped the temps up til it was pliable. who knows how accurate it is so i cant give an accurate temp to get to, but a heat gun will work and just dogt get it too close or the texture may be affected. but you can reform it to match the stock its on, just do it evenly so the holes still line up. i havent mounted mine yet but i will drill in from each side to start then try to line it up and maybe use a really small thin bit to connect the two holes and get it lined up good.

Re: Karsten's Cheek Rest?

I set the cheek piece to where it was all the way down, marked where i needed the holes on both sides. Drilled through one side only at each of the marks. Then I drilled through to make sure the holes were correct and straight.

If you drill straight through in one shot I can almost guarantee you will screw it up without a drill press.
