First, you gotta go to the station and walk around with your chest poked out, like your shit don't stink. Invite yourself to eat lunch with them, tell them the Chief said it was cool, and that you're their boss since you pay taxes.
Find one of the guys, tell him that you want to be a fireman, that you've seen every episode of Rescue Me, and that you can do that shit...
If that doesn't work, call 911 every night around 3 AM complaining of a headache, or nausea. This way you can for a rapport with your future brotheren, and being late at night, you'll have their undivded attention, unlike during the day when a host of things may be on their minds.
