From what I have seen, an independent screws up the republicans. The voters figure why vote for commie-lite (independent) when they can vote for full-on commie?

That is also what helped Obama win against McCain. He was a RINO and people thought exactly that. Why get commie lite when you can get full on commie?

People laugh but I wonder if the Repubs would have had a stronger showing if they picked anyone else but McCain. In reality, Obama won because there was no republican candidate to run against.

See, that's the thing. I used to believe that. So, I did not vote in 2016. Hillary made me sick and I didn't think too much about Trump. And then, he won. Surprised me.

I was surprised when he pulled it off as well. But I've wondered from the beginning if that was intentional or not. Always kind of had the Trojan horse feeling to me. If he makes it into office again in 24 and it's as good economically as it was 16-20, I'm not going to squander the opportunity. But who knows.

There's no doubt some seriously shady stuff went on in 2020 but there's also no doubt that if conservatives would get off their asses and actually go vote we would overtake the election no matter what. Voting is state by state guys, and many states did in fact do some serious good to their voting practices. So go vote, the worst case is that you lost the time it took you to vote. Discouraging Cons from voting is just stupid. Go vote and encourage everyone you can to do like the dems do and harvest votes in the few states that it's still possible to do it in.

kennedys move independent is the least resistive yet least effective way to bring about reform if he actually had true intent.

Harder path but biggest return on reform is to stay with the dem party.

That is how I feel and I believe it when it was said before that the 2016 election was already in the bag for Clinton and no one expected the grand slam turnout for Trump from people who STFU and then voted. That is why voting can make a difference.
