My shooting range is 1,000 yards on rare occasions. Efficient workflow for effective shot placement out to 600 yards in a hunting scenario is my primary use case. To date, I've been using a Weatherflow meter and BallisticARC on my iPhone. My baseline dope from zero conditions works out to 600 yards in almost all of the conditions I shoot in. But it's nice to monitor atmospheric conditions and record them. Even if it doesn't change my dope a whole lot.
I recently lost my Weatherflow meter, and I'd like to not have my phone be part of the process. Which leads me to maybe purchasing a Kestrel. Looking at the 2700. Is the AB ultralight going to limit me in any way for hunting use out to 600-700 yards? If I'm recreation shooting out to further distances, I am not so worried about using the phone as support.
