Still no luck. My Kestrel switches over to the download progress screen, but then cuts out after five seconds. This is for both the app and dongle procedures.

Still no luck. My Kestrel switches over to the download progress screen, but then cuts out after five seconds. This is for both the app and dongle procedures.
Fixed the problem by taking out the battery of my Kestrel unit and putting it back in. It's downloading the new FW now.
It almost seems to go ahead and cover all potential problems Kestrel should change there SUP (Standard Update Procedure) 1. Remove and reinstall battery in unit. 2. Uninstall and reinstall the app on your smart device. Seems like just those two simple steps would prevent a good bit of "I can't get the new update to work"
Have you tried doing a factory restore on the Kestrel? This will delete the gun profiles on it however.
I did a factory reset on my 5700 AB Link, plus all the other suggested options of deleting the app and re-installing. No Joy! The app downloads the update, but when I start the upgrade to the Kestrel, a window pops up on the phone and tells me there was an error with the logs on the Kestrel. I tried it all again after clearing the logs and same error. Have about 3 hours of time in attempting to upgrade to 1.2 and still running 1.15. Help would be appreciated short of sending in my Kestrel...
mine also did this. What i did was change the name of the device. deleted the app. rebooted my ipad. reinstalled the app. and then it worked.
Thanks Dill, one thing I had not tried was using my iPad. Downloaded the app, linked it up and the update is in progress. Wonder why my iPhone 8 Plus with latest iOS won’t do it?
I wish Kestrel would Cap the limit on what retailers can charge for these Items, I am sick and tired of being ripped off by the importers, No doubt Kestrel let these companies buy them at a reasonable rate But once they have them it seems like the Sky is the Limit. I have owned 3 or 4 Kestrels of different models but now the pricing is way OTT.

It is described somewhere above in thread. Uninstall app in mobile and install again or takeout battery from kestrel. And promt will folow.
When you go to the capture the DOF screen "Capture" will be highlighted hit the down arrow then that will put you into "Ideg" then hit the left right arrows to adjust the Ideg once you adjust it hit the up arrow to finish the DOF.
