Kestrel Elite 5700, Zero Atmosphere?

On my Kestrel Elite, I used my phone to upload Gun/Bullet profiles.

If I were to be shooting on a hot day in the desert and that is where I established my zero; will the impact change when shooting on a cold day or change in elevation? If so, can I tell the Kestrel the environment in which I set the zero; and can it predict a solution when the environment changed?

In the Iphone app, there was a "Zero Atmosphere" option which I understood would do exactly what I am asking.

Not with a 100 yard zero, no.

The only thing to be careful of, is if there is a crosswind when you zero, then you have added Aerodynamic Jump Bias to your zero.

Set your wind at 6 or 12 to check your drop. The AerJ is a pain in the ass to deal with if your zero changes due to wind.

Once you verify drops, then change your kestrel to get wind holds keeping in mind AerJ will move you up or down depending on wind direction.

Good luck, it's a pain for now, but hopefully AB and Kestrel can provide an update soon so AerJ can be turned off by te user.

Out today in 20-25mph wind with the 5700, left the the wind solutions in place, as per "normal" I of course got .2 mils more than I needed because of the AJ issue.

But if zeroed out wind #1 and left wind #2 alone my solution dropped the .2 mils added by AJ.

Seems to be a work around for now and have the correct solution with the wind hold displayed simultaneously on screen.

Thanks for confirming this, I saw this by accident yesterday while shooting, but didn't have a chance to test it.

There was another thread in the scout site, where a user MorganLampercht as the OP, posted the issue with AerJ. One of the AB guys said he would take it to Kestrel for it to be user configurable in the next release, am just not sure if and when that will happen.

Any chance this being user configurable soon? Meaning from an on/off perspective?
