I know some folks have been asking for accuracy reports on the Green Mountain Pre-Fits Keystone accuracy is selling, so I figured I would start a thread to give some feedback on them.

This was a custom barreled action (Curtis Axiom / GM barrel) that literally only took 48 hours from order placement to shipping. Machining was great, and it shot some old 147 ELD's I had loaded for another rifle under 1/2 moa. Yes, 5 shot groups, and yes, it was windy and raining haha.

I'm not sponsored or pay by Keystone in anyway, but I've had John build barrels for me for probably 5+ years now, and I have yet to have one that didn't meet my accuracy expectations.

Good to see it working out. I tried one of their (Green Mountain) $30 gunsmith special 30 cal blanks (straight 1.25" bar) and was lucky to get under 2" @100yd. The muzzle threads belled out like .004". It was a simple stress relief issue, though. If they can get that nailed down-- and it may just be that the GS specials didn't get any stress relief-- I've heard several different people say GM barrels will shoot just fine with a proper chamber/crown job.

Sounds like there was a reason they sold them for $30. I have a GM rimfire barrel that shoots as well as my Vudoo and pretty much every other $3000+ smallbore rifle I've owned. Anschutz, Walther, FWB, you name it.

As I recall, it was the short cut off end of a long bar they used for regular products. It was just enough to make a 16" barrel.

Glad the barrel worked out for you. I was skeptical of GM barrels so I passed on the prefit and went with a smith to do my work on a brux barrel. The price is right on those barrels as a prefit so I may have to try one out. Ive heard keystones machining is top notch. Heard some complaints about pva's prefits so this is looking like a good option
