I shoot a Pro Carry II which is a very similar pistol. Mine has approximately 6000 rounds through it over the last 2 years. I carry it and also shoot IDPA with it, so i know its definitely reliable. you may have to tweak the extractor a little, and i feel kimber put too heavy of a recoil spring in it, and i swapped down to a 20lb on mine which really improved the reliability and made it more consistent with ejection.

One of the best shooting and most "well mannered" pistol's I own is a Kimber Pro Covert. I lost it the first trip to the range. The wife picked it up while I was loading magazines. With a big grin she looks at me & says "This one is Mine!" Whenever we go to the range she always asks if we have enough ammo for "Her" gun. I has never had the slightest hickup. It feeds everything that I have put through it. The wife has never once complained about the recoil, so it has been a win, win in my book. As far as round count goes I am not real sure but I am into the 4th 1000 rd box of 185 gr. HP's. We shoot just enough carry ammo to rotate the stock.

I love my 4" Kimber. Shoots great, hides well. I prefer it to my 70 series
