Sidearms & Scatterguns KKM or Alpha Wolf Glock Barrel.

I need a G17 threaded barrel and have decided between these 2 brands. The KKM is about $100 more and a 3 month wait. The Alpha wolf is in stock.

My former Marine Force Recon buddy said that you can't really out shoot an Alpha Wolf (unless you are trying to group with a pistol. ).

What are your thoughts?

I went with KKM personally, although mine is a little different. I wanted a 9mm conversion barrel for a G35, so that ended up getting a KKM conversion barrel for the longer G20 and threading it. It has been very accurate and reliable after swapping in a 9mm recoil spring.

My USPSA competition pistol is a sight tracker Glock 22 with a threaded 6" Lone Wolf barrel and Sight Block. Cheapy barrel from Lone wolf still shoots 3 inch groups at 25 yards. Even if the groups were double the size, I'd still be happy with it. The vast majority of people cannot shoot a handgun to it's mechanical limitations of accuracy from sandbags, then much less from a non supported standing position. Either will probably serve you well. I have a KKM G35 barrel that I was not happy with in terms of feeding, lots of 3 point binds, since I've converted back to a G22 the Lone wolf barrel has been 100%. Very small sample size for the Lone Wolf and KKM, but in general, I've sold Storm Lake conversion barrels for 8 years now, those have been trouble free. The reason I have the Lone Wolf and KKM stuff was because Storm Lake was out of stock at the time.

This contest shows that it mostly depends on what ammo/tpye of shooting you plan on doing. BUT - if you're just looking for a good, all-around threaded barrel that's the most accurate for the widest range of ammo - KKM won.

Factory Factory Factory Factory Factory...

They are coming out with a 5 Gen. Glock and it's like an updated version of the old Gen1's. No finger grooves, has a rail, but this time comes with a traditional rifled "match" barrel and crown.

I prefer polygonal and if I can't find a factory threaded barrel then I get the next best size and send it to Gemtech to be threaded, saying they don't have the one I need in stock.

Factory barrels have about 50fps more velocity (in a full size 9mm) over traditional rifling, generous chamber and feed ramp so they don't jam, and accuracy with them has been as good or better than anything short of a custom Barsto, which will sacrifice some reliability to gain that accuracy.
