I am in search of a black KAC one piece 30mm scope mount (pn 24755 black). I can find plenty in taupe and a few places tha list the black news but are out of stock. I would rather not get a taupe and have it painted black and in fact would probably go with a Larue before that. So, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thank you!

I got one last week from Knesek Guns in AR. Never dealt with them before, but took a chance, smooth transaction. I just started looking for KAC mounts on their dealers page, Knesek was the only one I found that had the mount in black. There were a shit ton in taupe, not what I wanted.

This.

Thank you, did they ream you on shipping and CC fees? When I spoke with them the all in price was nearing $400, up slight from the $327 for just the mount.

Sounds like I might need to follow up with them.
Thanks!

BTW, SR-15 looks sweet! I love mine and now in the process of building a SR-25.

Not trying to bash one dealer or prop up another, but do your research before deciding who to do business with. I buy my Knight's products directly from Knight's or from Operation Parts. Hidden fees are a clue...

I agree. I first placed an order with KAC as their website offered black or taupe. After placing the order, they called (which was pretty cool) to let me know that they now only offer this mount in taupe. Canceled the order, back to google.

I usually try Lawmen's and Shooter's first, which I did, and Scott said that they (L&S) were out, didn't know when they were getting any. That's when I went to the KAC website for KAC dealers nationwide. No one on the east coast had any, called prob. 10-12 different retailers, only Knesek had the mount in black. Lawmen's and the other retailers only had taupe, not what I wanted. Ordered from Knesek on Monday, had it Thursday.

The mount was $328
Shipping ins. was $8
Shipping and handling was $35
Credit card fee was $15 Don't mind this fee, if there is a problem, my card company has never fucked me around on a disputed or returned item, worth the extra $15

Total was $386. That's a little steep for a mount, but wtf, price a GDI or Spuhr. I'm not saying this mount is as well made or on the same level as a Spuhr, ALL the shooting stuff is getting expensive. I just paid a $1 a round for BH .223. That made my head explode.

Again, Knesek was the only place that I could find that had the mount in stock, ready to ship. I live 20 minutes from L&S, yeah, I usually go there first. When Scott said that he really had no idea when they might have some, that was my green light to look around.

Good luck.

You're definitely the outlier in doing business with Knesek while still getting the right product sent to the right place within a reasonable time. Good for you!

I say this because Knesek Guns shows a BBB rating of F. A while back I posted about some problems I had with Knesek Guns and Thor Global Defense and to my dismay, those problems remain to this day, nearly two years later. It's my suspicion that the products listed on their website are at a severe disconnect with the real inventory in the warehouse. It appears that they'll take your order (and your money) and then begin the process of finding the product for you. That of course takes a long time and should the customer decide to back out of the order (who wants to wait 6 months for something that was supposedly in stock?), Knesek will charge you a 50% restocking fee.

I vaguely remembered the name, and did see the BBB ratings. Yes, I was was a little leery, but it was only a mount, took a chance.

Will say this, the Knesek people were o.k.,but didn't strike me as having the same level of product knowledge or order processing skills that I see from other Hide vendors such as Eurooptik/Mile High/CS Tactical, SWFA, etc. Good reputations are worth their weight...

Now I'm looking for the 34mm.
