I'm looking for opinions on the 600 series Kowa Prominar spotting scopes. I've seen a little - but very little discussion on this line. I know the name is good.
I badly need to update what I have so I can see paint splatter to at least 700 Meters on steel with .223/5.56 and .308 - mostly from the bench. My rifles are geared more for longer range 3-Gun, but I like to shoot at longer distances for fun. Eyes are getting old and I need all the help I can get (within reason).
My budget is about $1k and I want the most bang for my buck (duh) - I'm unable to look through anything of quality locally. I was about to go with a Konus, but I've never regretted going with better quality over price.
Also looking at the Vortex Viper HD, so comments on this option as well as others are welcome.
