Kowa has expressed interest in producing a reticled eyepiece and they wanted our feedback. I thought it would be helpful to submit a "Sniper's Hide Design."
The purpose of this poll is to determine which reticle style to go into detailed design with. This is a choice about broad styles. We are pitting Design #1 against Design #4 and Design #2 against Design #3 (see below). The winner of 1 vs 4 will face the winner of 2 vs 3 in another poll. The final design will get detailed out at a later date (things like dots vs. hashes, thickness of subtensions, etc.).
The original design thread can be found here.
Here is a description of the broad designs:
Design #1 - "L-shaped" Reticle
This is the reticle design that appears in the Hensoldt Spotter 60. A vote for this will be for either an "L" or an "inverted L." If this is the final winner, we will run another poll for the L vs. Inverted L. Here is an example pic:
Design #2 - Storm Tactical crucifix
This design features a cross-hair that is not centered and a vertical stadium that does not go across the entire reticle. If this design wins, we will have another poll for reticle at the top vs reticle at the bottom. Here is an example pic:
Design #3 - "Rifle Reticle" (centered crosshairs edge-to-edge)
This design is just a standard rifle reticle with miliradian subtensions. Think of the Gen 2 or the P4F, for example. We will work out mildots versus hashes and how small to make the subtension marks in detail design if this is the winner. Here is an example pic:
Design #4 - MSR/Tubb style reticle
This design will include a variety of reticles to allow for ranging and calling shots. I call it the "everything but the kitchen sink" design. It provides the user with a number of tools for ranging, etc., but it takes up a little more real estate. Here is an example pic:
Hopefully, this is all clear. We will be making a decision about which direction to take the detailed design. Go ahead and vote a preference in each poll and we will put the winners of each poll head to head.
If you have any questions or are confused, post below. Also, it might be helpful to refer to the original design thread here.
