Night Vision KRG Bravo NV rail

Will the KRG enclosed forend or the INVR mount work with a Bravo chassis or am I stuck using the NV mount Cap that attaches to a spigot?

I know @wigwamitus runs a PRI extended rail to get the job done, I was just curious if there are any other options out there?

I’ve seen some pictures with the enclosed forend on the Bravo and the forends are interchangeable between Bravo and Whiskey 3.

Glad I could help haha. I actually just checked the KRG website and the enclosed forend indicates compatibility.

The forends are all interchangeable. If I’m not mistaken the backbones are/were/might be the same so the invr will work too. I would however go with the enclosed forend if it’ll work for you application

My problem with the KRG NV Mount was it wasn't sufficiently long or adjustable to allow me to mount clipons closest to the day scope objective lens in all cases.

To wit this "large" gap between the rear of the clipon and the front of the objective. We want to mount them as close together as possible.

And this was despite my only using 4 of the 6 screws and mounting the NV mount even farther to the rear than was intended.

Second problem was it would come loose ... as with most of the screws on the KRG ... massoud recommended loc tite ... and that did help where I used it (like on the sling mount back on the stock).

But I replaced the KRG NV mount before I tried loctiting it.

With the PRI (Precision Reflex) rail, essentially a long scope base. This reduced the weight, moved center of gravity farther to the rear and permits mounting any size clipon in front.

Yeah, the enclosed foreend works with the Bravo chassis. I have one I just put together. I like it so much, that I'm considering upgrading my other KRG chassis' to it.

I'd attach a photo, but it seems that function is currently broken with the recent upgrades to the site.

All the Bravo's since after the first batch have used the same backbone as the Whiskey-3 and X-ray so they will take the INVR which mounts in the barrel channel.

The very latest chassis come with mounting points on the backbone for a new NV mount that is coming and is multi-position. Basically you have a lot of options at this point. Thank you guys for your business!

This sounds promising !!! I'll be watching out for the net weight add ... always looking to cut weight on this rifle ... this is supposed to be my "light" rifle !!!

That might have sounded like we have a new chassis coming. What I meant is that the newest W-3, Bravo, and X-rays are getting a new style of backbone that has mounting holes. There will be 5x threaded holes on the top "rail" on each side at the muzzle end of the backbone. Like this:

If you don't have that though, there's still 3 options for you (INVR, Spigot + NVMC kit, Enclosed forend).

INVR works. I had to do a little mill work to get this to go, but as @Massoud said, I think on newer ones it bolts right up.

Yes that is the early style Bravo backbone. That one can work with an INVR if you take .080" off the top of the side rails at the front which is what J-ham did above.

Charnicus, we haven't been selling the backbones separately on the website but it's not out of the question.

Just for clarification, I didn't have to remove the .080" off the rails on the backbone, I had to adjust the holes in the spigot so the bolt could tie all 3 together (INVR, rail & spigot). I believe the new version spigot just bolts right up.

Earlier in 2019 we added some additional mounting holes at the very front for a new style NV mount and any Rem 700SA chassis and I believe most other inlets ship with that as of now (5Sep19). I think you'll find it very comfortable, especially if you like how a TRG feels. Thank you.

I got one of the new backbones on a Bravo a couple weeks ago from Brownells.

Thanks for the info! And that’s just the standalone NVMC that you’d run with the spigot right? Just wanna make sure I order right... Never been behind a TRG but if I can use my Whiskey 3 as testament I think all will be good. ??

Does the Bravo inletted for the Tikka T1x use the "universal backbone"? Can the INVR be mounted on the T1x Bravo?

Will future T1x inlets include the mounting holes for the "new style NV mount"? All the photos I've seen of T1x Bravos do not include these.

I'm considering the Bravo for my T1x and want to add an NV mount so I have a point to press down on the front of the stock without touching the barrel. I don't want to add the spigot.

@charnicus yeah the NVMC kit is for the spigot, we have another version of that coming as well that matches the lines of the Spigot better but is just cosmetically different really.

@ncr92 Yes the T1X has the universal backbone and the latest ones will have the NV mounting holes as seen above. All the T1X will take the INVR (and Spigots) but the newer style NV mount coming has a better mounting interface so I would recommend waiting for that.

I had the same question and couldn't find anything on the net. So I paid to find the answer and here it is for anyone else that may be wondering the same thing one day. By my measurements the backbone mounted NV rail on my Bravo sits approximately 0.175" above the CTR's factory rail. I haven't taken the rail off yet to measure it's height but the factory CTR rail looks to be somewhere around 0.255" in height. Need a rail about 0.430" tall to be even with the NV bridge. So far it's looking like the MDT rail would be really close, especially if it was 0 MOA as the front of the 20 MOA base is ~0.40" (0.030" lower than the NV rail and continuing lower at 20MOA) and the rear is ~0.435" only about 0.005" higher.
