    All,

New guy trying to learn on his own this evening and hit a roadblock. I was installing a Curtis Vector action with a trigger tech trigger into a KRG Whiskey three chassis (gen 6). Everything was going well on first attempt, torqued front and rear action screws down. Put everything back together, and I got to a functions test and the safety bar on the TT trigger was "pinched" and completely immobile.

I removed everything and just played around with the action inside the chassis and it seems like the trigger safety doesn't have a lot of space internally to move?

Edit: took a quick video, not sure if this helps at all: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xau3nilgzs5y0bo/20190628_212513.mp4?dl=0

Edit 2: Obvious wear spot inside the chassis, safety bar is rubbing internally. Bend safety, file the internal part of the chassis where its rubbing?

Might be a tolerance stackup issue, might be that the trigger sits a bit lower than standard to account for the larger bolt body diameter (and likely lower cocking piece position). I’d err on the side of using a dremel to chamfer that entire edge.

You may have a bent safety lever.

I just rec'd a Special this afternoon that is already on it's way back to the dealer for replacement. The safety was atrociously bent and twisted.

Mine is a lefty, dunno if they use the same part for the safety on both sides or not (I would guess it's fairly likely), maybe they had a bad run of safeties (although it looks like yours is the older one piece version). Take a look at yours, from the pics I've seen online the top "leg" of the lever where the knob is screwed should be perfectly parallel with the housing, mine was bent at a 10*+ angle and twisted clockwise.

Thanks for the above and the heads up. I do not have another trigger here at the house to compare it to physically but looking at your pictures I think I can safely say the safety bar isn't bent.

I had to machine a little out at the same spot on my manners mini chassis for my tempest.

Thanks for the confirmation. I spoke to KRG over email and they said to go ahead and relieve some of the material to make space for the safety level. The combination of needing some barrel contouring work done and also the lack of stones to take a dremel to a $1.3k chassis, I decided to drop it all off with the smith here in NoVA to make it fit. Will report back in a few weeks.

That safety looks bent but I had to remove material for my TT in a Whiskey 3. I’m running a Vector as well.
