Mods: Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so please let me know if it isn't...

I recently did a paintjob on my rifle, and got a bit carried away in the process, so I had a go at various other stuff as well...

(Lots of paint in them thar cans!

BUT... One of the items that got a makeover was one of my bino's. A Redfield with a rubbery surface. And, for some reason, the paint turned glossy after a few days, and the surface remains VERY sticky. Feels like uncured paint

, but there is no rub off at all.

My question is:
Is there any prepping agent that can be used on rubberized surfaces to prevent the paint going glossy? And that might take some of the "edge" off that sticky feeling...?
Or is it no go...?

Re: Krylon on various surfaces....

Probably what happened was something in the paint is not agreeing wih the rubber coating. Not sure on what to tell you to clean it with because it may eat at the rubber as well.

Re: Krylon on various surfaces....

It cleans off nicely with CRC Pure Clean, without eating or melting the rubber.

What I'm looking for is some sort of primer that will allow me to paint it again....

I really liked the way it looked! (Before it turned all glossy and shiny...
