From what I’ve seen, it was likely a self defense shooting. However, what they will argue on is that he didn’t have to be there in the first place carrying around an AR and two that property is not worth human life. That will be the argument and the jury will have to decide. It’s sad that you cannot even protect what is yours these days without fear of repercussions. All of the video I have seen has shown the dude clearly outnumbered, fallen getting beaten by multiple attackers and multiple clips of a BLM dude reaching for a pistol and one pic even shows him with a pistol. So it’s hard to argue that at that point he wasn’t in fear for his life. Their only argument is that he didn’t have to be there and that he put himself in that situation. In that situation, how was this dude not as justified as one of the officers that started this whole mess? That is the conundrum.

He shouldn't have been there. I don't believe it's legal for someone under the age of 18 to possess a gun unless it is being used specifically for hunting, shooting sports, and firearm education. The civil lawsuits are going to put his parents/guardians into bankruptcy and potentially isolation.

Checking out his backstory... he is an emt. He did go with a group but as an emt to help both protesters and the patriot group.

if you watch ALL the videos, in the first one he was being chased by a guy throwing things at him, one of which was a brick until he was cornered between a gas station and a car... he turned around and shot the guy (the headshot) at what looks like in the vid near point blank. Here’s what’s interesting. You can clearly see he is carrying a small emt kit, he returns to the guy he shot, gets out his phone and calls 911. He went back to help the guy he just shot.

Then the mob started chasing him again.. and he ran again. Tripped, kicked in the head, hit with a skateboard in the head (second guy he shot had just and was still hitting him in the head with a skateboard)... third guy he eventually shot actually stopped.. kid pointed gun at him but showed some restraint in the middle of the chaos and did not shoot. This guy pulled a pistol and came forward and was shot in the arm. Interesting really if you study Grossman. He hit the guy in the arm, right above his handgun. Total 100% speculation on my part...BUT... if he was hyper focused on the handgun would make sense the bullet went were his eyes were. No way of knowing if that is actually true. Could be coincidence, but interesting.

There are longer, multiple view videos out there worth watching.
