L E Sniper competitions

Re: L E Sniper competitions

Fn/Leupold is at Ft. Meade June1-6. Shot over 5 days, poker shoot with 3 mile run, known distance standing, kneeling and sitting at 200, and 500 prone. Scenario and mil estimation +/- 25 yds., obstacle course for time and then run to combat range and fire from 300 to 100 from 10 positions. Movers at 2 and 300. Last day is UK range after stress run out to 1000. 30 teams are invited, usually never gets filled due to teams getting called out at the last minute. Check FN's site and get on the waiting list. This is a good match, good prizes, but come in shape, have seen teams get DQ'd for not completing an event.

The inaugural US SWAT Sniper Championships (USSSC) will be held 15 & 16 June 2009 at the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The USSSC is a property of Advanced SWAT Training and Competition.

Competition Objective
The objective of the US SWAT Sniper Championships is to provide a challenging, world-class sniper competition that tests sniper team skills in the areas of combat shooting, physical fitness, organization and decision-making.

The Competition
The competition will consist of six (6) live fire stages. The stages will be head-to-head with two teams competing side by side on mirrored courses of fire. Team members will be required to demonstrate their skills with long-gun, carbine and pistol. Stages will be objectively scored based on stage completion time and target hits. Officers will have one round per assigned target and penalized for misses. A competition book will be sent to all registered teams prior to the competition.

Registration and Prizes
Sniper Teams may register for the USSSC independent of the US National SWAT Championships (i.e., you don't have to have a team in the USNSC to competition in the USSSC).

Registration fee is $250 dollars per team and includes an awards banquet and competitor goody bag. Trophies will be awarded for first-third place teams with accompanying prize packages. Registration will be limited to the first 60 teams signing up. Registration will open 1 December 2008.
