I’m have a hard time getting my Radar to pick up my .22 as well as my suppressed. I was going to pick up a microphone trigger to fix this issue. My question is can I use any jacked microphone instead of buying the $50 one?

The microphone does well, but I also invested in the inertia trigger made by JKL for this season to see how it does, then I dont worry about setting off with other shooting near me. If you want to try the Mic PM me Id probably sell the one I have got.

+1 for an Inertial Trigger. I went the external mic route to rectify the same issues you are having. While performance improved, the Issues continued at a less frequent rate. Once I went to an Inertial Trigger, no more issues. While JLK (https://jklprecision.com/product/labradar-trigger/) makes a very good inertial trigger for the LabRadar, the idea originated with Piet (https://pietrecoiltrigger.com/).

Thanks guys. I haven’t thought about the inertia trigger, but I shoot mostly by myself and haven’t thought I needed it. I will look in to it though.

Id rather figure out why its not working normally. You either have a setting or a set up isse. For rimfire and silenced put the labradar in front of the muzzle to catch the limited blast.

Since we are talking about LabRadar improvements, does anyone know where I can get a bench plate for Lab Radar? My range has a low overhang due to stupid people shooting in the air and when using bench and Lab Radar with low tripod it partially covers the radar.... Was looking for a bench plate but thy have been discontinued

It just isn't reliable enough for certain rifle suppressors, and there's nothing you can do about it. The inertia trigger is 100% reliable, idiot proof, and completely negates the issue of other shooters setting off your own Labradar. Well worth the price.

I understand the desire to save some money. While the dedicated microphone trigger is designed for optimal performance with your Lab Radar, you can experiment with a regular microphone that has a compatible jack. It may not offer the same level of precision, but it's worth a try if you're looking for a budget-friendly alternative. If you're interested in microphones, you should definitely check out https://asmrmicrophones.com/.
