Where did 44.3gr fall in as far as numbered shots on the ladder? Vertically, 5, 6, 7 seem close and was just curious what their charge weight was. Same question on #'s 10 and 11.
Need to go farther, for the ladder, 200yds is to short. I cannot read that properly.
You might be better off doing an OCW test (kinda what you did), if you don't have the range to get 300-500yds
Be more consistent with the groups, always shoot the same # in the group (5 is the norm now)
Thant said the 44-44.7 is where you need to be.

I agree with Rover31. I do mine at 450 or 500 yards. But load in between 6 and 7 look like it might be a Node with the way your MV and target look. I call a redo. Do the test a couple times just to see if it repeats same data.

To my knowledge you go by the three closest bullets vertically. It looks like your best group is 5, 6, and 7. Now you work in between load 5 and 7 to narrow it down. Maybe by .2 grain increments and a further distance if you can.
I would do .2 gr between 43.8 and 45, that's only 7 rounds. That said, if you want to do more shootin while there--which is my weakness, load up some rounds for groups at longer distance as week, even if not 500yrds, maybe at 44, 44.3 and 44.5. Will give you the odd grain information for comparison.
If at all possible I would recomend doing your ladder testing farther out its really hard to see a good spread at 200 yards if you push this out to say 500 yards it should be much easier to see results.
Well I dropped the rifle off to get bedded today so I won't get to go out for a couple weeks. I wanted to get it done before I did final load development and found a smith that could squeeze me in.
Done thing bedding would change barrel harmonics--at least not to any appreciable extent. I certainly think its a good idea to do whatever accuracy work you want done to your rifle before final load work up. Narrow it down, take to 500, and bet you find where you want to be. One more trip playing with seating depth and your done.
OK, picked up my rifle and got back to the range to try 3 different loads with 2 different bullets (hornady BTHP and Amax both 178g)
to me it looks like that Amax is dealing with the jump to the lands better than the BTHP but I can't figure out why I would lose velocity with the 44.7 over the 44.4. Maybe out of barrel?? (24" 1/12" TWIST)
anyone? To heavy for 1/12? running out of barrel? Need to change to a powder like Power Pro 2000MR? Shoot again and see if I have any different results?
