Lapua 155 Scenars out of a 20" barrel?

I have an SPS Tactical with a 20" barrel. My Current load is 175 SMK on 44.2gr of 4064 in Lapua brass which shoots well. I would like to try something new. I was just wondering if anyone was shooting 155 Lapua Scenars out of a 20" barrel, and what kind of loads you prefer and result you get?

I run a load in my Tikka T3 that gives me around half a minute accuracy when I do my part. Load is 46.3g Varget, Lapua Brass, 155 Scenars - gives about 2750fps out of my barrel. According the ballistic calculators ive used, its enough to stay subsonic up to about 1200 yards.

A lot of people push them faster/harder, but I don't have the need currently.

i have a tikka T3 Scout 20".
i run 45g of imr 8208xbr in lapua brass fed 210m primers with the 155 lapuas.
2875fps average, less then 1 moa 20shot groups at 600yds.the berger 155.5 do just as well.
the imr8208 is the best powder ive ever used for the 308.

I run southwest ammo's 155gr load and its doing just fine out to 1000 yards. And in some high winds at Rockcastle Shooting Center it performed better then the 175gr stuff I had brought along.

I haven't tried the 155's but I would like to know the velocity of your load with the 175 smk.

Using then in my 18.5 inch .308. Load is Lapua brass, br2 primers, and 46.5g Varget, getting 2825fps. Accuracy is good, .5 moa or so, but more importantly for me, it is a consistent performer at distance for me.

I'm about to buy a chronograph so I havent graphed them through my rifle but I borrowed the load from another hide member who chronographed it around 2520 I think...

I run mine hot in a 19" tube with a significant charge of varget, gets me just over 2900 fps through a Krieger barrel.

I shoot the Lapua 155's with Reloader-15,lapua brass and like the results I get as well as I do the 175's. I think they are worth a try for you.
