Brunos was to ship my 200 out Monday. I have never dealt with them before. From the places I looked at they were the lowest at $91.00 a hundred. Don't have the money to buy bulk. Hope they are as good as there supposed to be.

My question is: "What is the timeframe of Jared's data?".

I bought some Nosler 300wm brass a few years ago. All of the brass was +- .5 gr. but weighed nominally the same as my Federal 300WM brass. Called Nosler and asked. Was told that, no... Federal did *NOT* make their brass... it was made by Norma. Fast forward at least 2 years. Bought some more Nosler brass. Not even close to the same weight as the last batch. Varied within lot by +- 2+ grains. Not nearly the same dimensional quality. Called Nosler and asked if Norma was still making their brass... was told that information is not public. OK, then...

Draw your own conclusions.

I've got a .295 chamber and miked my new Lapua with 139's and was between .2935 and .2940. I would like to have .002 difference but what do you guys think about only having .001. I'm new to reloading so I'm not sure what my options are. Also, if I run it will I have a little more room after fire forming?

In my book .001 would not be acceptable. Neck will thin as it grows but I have no idea how may cycles. I would turn necks and be VERY unhappy while doing.

.001 is no go in my opinion. BR shooters try to squeeze by with .0015 but for tactical I would stay with .0025 to .003 as to increase brass life and reduce PSI. For my new build with Lapua brass after discussions with Dave at PT&G I will be going with .003

If it says "Made in the USA" on the box then it isn't made by Norma, simple as that. Perhaps there are boxes that say the source country is Sweden, then that would make sense. But I myself have never seen one.

The funny thing about all of this is that the info I had is years old and was subject to change the day after.
Also we all know that the words "made in the USA" mean shit these days. People are always being creative to hide the fact that something was made elsewhere and assembled here or whatever.

Take for example "100% natural". Plutonium is 100% natural and for that fact what isn't? It doesn't mean it's good for you. My point is that people should look more into what defines the terms of the label than the label itself. Ok rant over........

Does anyone know what chamber specs underground skunkworks uses on their 260 REM reamer? mike is building me a rifle right now and I am wanting to pick up some of this brass, but not if it will be to tight with the chamber they cut. iill call mike in the morning and ask buy figured someone on here may know before then.

Mikes reamer specs might be proprietary... but SAAMI is .298 +.002-.000.

I have 200 Lapua brass on the way and Mike's reamer was used to chamber my barrel. If SLUHstud doesn't get the info, I'll give you a "go", "no go".

FYI, just miked new brass with Scenar 139gr without any brass preparation, some measured 0.2945" with noticeable marks on bullet from Wilson seater , so even 0.0005" for .295" neck, toooo tight. But I always turning necks, measured just for information, maybe will helpful for someone.

I had this same problem with some 308 brass I necked down to 260, even after turning. I removed a lot of brass, and thought it had been enough, but I was wrong. I had serious pressure problems even with .001 clearance, beginning just above starting weight. I ended up pulling a lot of bullets and turning every single piece again.

Best to take the time to stay on the side of caution.

I started turning with an RCBS inside reamer/outside turner that goes on their case trimmer, since I had one lying around doing nothing. It's ok, but a real pain in to adjust, so I bought a second head to leave set up for my other caliber. The second head was crap, couldn't get a consistent cut to save my life, and I ended up sending it back. I do like that the way the stop works, it indexes off the case head, not the mouth, so trim length makes no difference. Fired or unfired will, though.

I bought a Sinclair 1500 tool, and that thing is nice, as are most Sinclair products. It indexes off the case mouth, so all the brass needs to be trimmed to the same length first. Re-turning some of the brass that was still a bit too thick, I chucked the brass in my drill and ran it at low speed. It worked fine and really sped up the process, but keep in mind, I was only cleaning up what the RCBS head I sent back had messed up, taking off only one or two thousandths.

If I had it to do over, I would just buy the Sinclair tool in the kit that includes the tool, expander die, and two mandrels. You can also use the die and mandrels to neck up 243 if you ever need to.

To my mind the best turning equipment is K&M. You will need at least Expand Iron Complete with correct mandrel for your caliber

And one or two Neck Turner Tools with correct pilots by your caliber, this is the most correct tool by design comparing to another turning solutions.

First, turning only BRAND NEW cases to achieve best results, never turn even once fired.

I'd prefer to use 2 pcs of Turners. Turning each case in 2-3 steps (depends how much you'd like to turn), let's call this rough turning in 1-2 steps using 1st Turner, this one adjustable each time, and then final step using 2nd Turner let's call this Finish Turner, you adjust this only ONCE and never touch adjustment knob later. This will guarantee to you that you have each case turned absolutely identically and uniformly.

Please check 1 to 5 steps here, http://www.6mmbr.com/jgcaseprep.html , others not about turning. This is 100% working method and proofed by a lot of shooters.

Maybe this is looks so complex -- really it is very easy, but really takes some time. But Lapua brass lives at least 15-20 cycles with correct preparation and accurate using with correct Full-Sizing, so 100pcs brass will be enough at least for half life of 260 rem barrel. Turn it once and use a lot of times without any issues.

Yes, I'm no expert, but .295" sounds awfully tight. I'm pretty sure mine was cut to .298". I specifically wanted to be able to shoot off-the-shelf Black Hills or Cor-Bon ammo, should the need ever arise.

Another solution to consider is sending me your 500 pieces, and in a week, I will send you back 300 nicely turned pieces

I think you are still pushing it with .002" clearance on PSI, throat erosion and short brass life. JM.02 PT&G states .003" unless you are going to B/R shoot.

I measured mine with a ball mic and the necks are very consistent at .015" thick all the way around on numerous sample cases from my batch. Good stuff.

Just received my rifle and did a quick load work up.

Reamer spec has neck of 0.296"

Loaded ammo neck diameter 0.294"

Fired brass allows a bullet to pass trough.

Looks like it will work great.

Guys, I forgot about this thead. Quick update for the guys wondering about an Underground skunkworks chamber and this brass. Its good to go. Mike looked over the reamer drawings and all should work great. I have some waiting to be loaded up for my rifle. Will let you know how it is after i shoot it.

I've been shooting un-turned Lapua .260 in a chamber reamed with Mike's reamer without issue... other than it just doesn't seem to care what load I use, it shoots one ragged hole.

I've been looking to give Lapua a chance even though the Norma has been working for me. My experience with Norma brass...

I've bought several different lots with over a spand of a year. They have been almost identical. All have been 168grains +-.04g virgin case weight with a .289" neck loaded with 140 Bergers BTLRs. I use a .287" bushing. I don't bother turning them. As you can see the loaded neck dimensions are much smaller on the Normas than the reported loaded Lapuas. I still can not drop a pill, friction free, into a spent/fired Norma case. This makes me think the unturned Lapuas might be an issue.

I found this to be accurate as well. 160.5 give or take a little is what I found in Remington too.
