Lapua is set to announce at the SHOT show a version of its .308 Winchester cartridge case that has a small BR-style primer pocket.
The flash-hole size of the pre-production .308 Lapua Palma brass is 1.5mm (.059).
This reminds me of old Universal Remington Benchrest (UBR) .308 brass, which I would shoot if I could find any.
When I tried it, using a small rifle primer raised pressures instead of lowering them.
Does anyone have info on:
1) The actual primer pocket size that Lapua will be using in the production brass;
2) Planned case wall thickness at the neck (will it be thinner brass like the UBR was?);
3) How using a small rifle primer will affect the pressures obtainable with a standard diameter firing pin hole?
