I'd like to fire form my first lot of Lapua brass using a load I've developed with H4350 in Hornady brass and am curious as to whether there is any significant difference in pressure with the thicker Lapua brass in loads developed for Hornady brass. I'd appreciate any comments from those that have made the switch to Lapua.

Thanks,

Dave

Water weigh them and figure out the difference in volume. If about the same drop half a grain and work up. If way off start over.

From everything I have seen you will see some added pressure and increase in MV with the same load you run in Hornady with the new Lapua. As long as your load was no where near high pressure before it should be safe to test out but chances are you'll have to tweet your load by a few tenths to get the same node you were before.

Did you switch from Hornady brass to Lapua?. And if so have you found any significant accuracy increase? Currently attaining .386 moa in factory ruger precision barreled rifle 6.5c. Not sure if switching to Lapua is worth twice the price. Thanks

It's more consistent in every way, so it isn't likely going to hurt accuracy. Also, consider that if you loaded the lapua to the same velocity as your hornady brass loads, they'd last far longer. The prices difference is nill, or in lapuas favor.

Golf is a game of inches, reloading and shooting is down to the thousands. But seriously .386 was original 3 shot best group with factory Hornady ammo. .320 with 42.5 H4350 2.810 oal. Aprox. .015 off the lands. 2760mv. Barrel is accurate, but cases grow .006 after first firing. Working on new powder. Reloader 16. Many say faster mv and just as temp stable. This was my production class gun.
