As there is no one local to me, go figure Kalifornia, I am looking for recommendations for a smith that I can send a gun to for diagnosis and repairs - thinking GAP but that is really the only one I can think of off the top of my head, not sure if they are even the right shop for this.

Basic details: Armalite in .308 with a non-threaded Wilson 18' barrel, currently having issues feeding, BCG locking back, general reliablity - not sure if its gas block related or spring related - I have tried a variety of springs including a Tubbs spring which rendered the gun completely inoperable, went to "standard" spring and buffer from Brownells, unreliable, switched to an Odin adjustable buffer, no help - thats pretty much my limit on gunsmithing and diagnosis capabilities to be completely honest so I need someone to actually diagnose the issue and take care of it.

TIA

Contact D Wilson MFG, they might be able to help you out. There could be a couple things going on, Barrel could be clocked in the receiver, gas block no longer lined up with the port. Those things can shift over time. Too much gas or not enough if you're using an adjustable block. Maybe buffer system, but doubt it if standard or the Tubb springs aren't working for you. Anyway, D. Wilson would be the first place I'd check with as There's very few places out there working on large frames. NS Armory might be another to try, but they look to be KAC specific and their prices reflect that too.

With a quick search found these guys linked below and also Fulton Armory lists AR10 services but for DPMS pattern rifles which is not what an Armalite is. So call and check with Fulton first.

Call Armalite? They should be able to help you out. It's under new ownership so I don't know how the new ownership is but it's worth an email AND a phone call....
