LaRue Tactical 34mm to 30mm Half-Ring Inserts

Does anyone have experience with Larue's ring inserts?

I have a SPR-E 1.93 in 34 mm that I want to convert to 30 mm. Should I buy their ring halves, or the inserts?

I'm worried the inserts are 'adding additional potential sources of failure/movement'. Thoughts?

i've got the inserts but haven't used them yet. I'm guessing they'd be fine for the hunting application I was thinking of using them for if I ever actually use them, but if you are worried, just get the ring halves. Then you can worry about having vertical split rings instead of horizontal and all sorts of other things but you won't be worrying about the plastic inserts
