I was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this accessory...
LaRue Tactical POD (Prone Optimization Device) LT733
Is it worth a darn?
It attaches to the bottom of a collapsible stock to give you a rear grip for prone position.
I am thinking about making one out of starboard/marineboard to attach to my LMT SOPMOD.

I am thinking about making one out of starboard/marineboard to attach to my LMT SOPMOD.

Have bought one recently and overall it’s pretty decent, although overpriced and one rail slot too short for an aesthetic fit for an AccuShot monopod with a QD mount. It’s a tight fit but not a 100% level with the bottom of the Magpul CTR stock. Pretty much the only option to run a monopod on a CTR.

I have these LaRue Prone-Optimization Devices on active duty.

16" OBR with Magpul CTR stock with LaRue RISR (reciprocating-in-line-stock-riser);
14.5" KAC SR-25 with BT-5 stock (picatinny rail Mlok)
Fabricated a mount solution to a Rogers SuperStoc in 2021.

The plastic pod caps that interface with the ground were all upgraded to the steel cap options from B&T Accu-Shot.

Just add a short section of favorite rail with desired fastener style to your butt stock. Done.

Not really possible with a CTR, which is what the POD was made for.

I think people realized that rear pods are kinda worthless in most situations and a good rear bag is superior most of the time. There's a few bag riders available for the CTR stock.
