Maybe I'm just misinterpreting it, but the stories I'm seeing on it say he was the oldest (105y/o), but not necessarily the last. In any case, rest in peace sir.

I can say for certain he was not the last Bataan Death March Survivor. I just had the honor of having dinner with two Bataan Survivors over the course of last Thursday through Saturday down at Ft Benning GA for a 31st Infantry Association reunion. All I can say is it was an honor to have dinner and talk to them.

T. Walter Middleton, the author of: "Flashbacks: Prisoner of War in the Phillipines" is alive and well as far as I know. I had the privilege of meeting him at the Western NC State Fair in 2002. I had a signed copy of this book but alas in my desire to share his story I loaned the book to someone who never brought it back.
