Out the door this afternoon is a 6.5mm SAUM based on the stellar Bighorn piece from AJ Goddard and Mark Chanlynn.

Fitted up here with a Sentinel stock, our brake, and an APA floor metal. Glass is by Vortex.

Took a little different tract on the paint. Customer's wife really likes orange. So we handled it. Custom blend of Cerakote to get the tones right. Reminds me of a "Gaghdad" sandstorm...

Perty neat rifle. Trying to learn the Photoshop stuff a little better. These were taken in RAW format, edited slightly, and then changed over to high res JPEGS. Tried to link them this way to avoid lengthy downloads of the thread for those with "geological bandwidth." Last photo is unedited. Straight from the camera to show the true colors.

Hell, that ain't bad at all, I'm an outside the box type anyway. I dig the release of the APA bottom metal, seems I always snag the damn release tab on the "conventional" DBM. Keep'em comin' Chad.

I am almost at a loss for words right now. There is a lot more to this build than what you can see in these magazine worthy pics(I'm going to ramble on a little). First of all, I'd like to thank Chad, Kalli, Lynn & Don for creating this WORK OF ART!!

What you all are looking at is a small Thank You gift to my wife & Best friend. 2 months ago she gave up her career to be a mother & homemaker to our twin 2.5 yr old daughters. So many things change when you become parents, you put everything aside to provide for them. You try to juggle work, your physical well being, hobbies, family, friends, meal preparation, babysitters, daycare, etc. When the day is over & it is Time to go to bed, you realize the only thing you accomplished was 9 hours work, 2 meals cooked, 2 loads of laundry, swept & mopped the floors, the rest of the time was spent chasing after the babies, potty training, feeding them, playing games, counting, coloring, you get what I'm saying.

She was a former Ohio State Trooper, former Investigator for the Department of Public Safety State of Ohio, former District Chief Bureau of Motor Vehicles. She spent the last 16 years of her life doing what she loved & didn't give it up easily. She is a very well trained & disciplined trigger puller. I'm attempting to give her a new hobby we can enjoy together.

    Here are the rifle specs:
Bighorn TL2 AW cut action, 308 & mag bf
    Bart 8.5tw med palma cut to 26" 6.5 SAUM .2962nk .081fb
    Bart 8tw med palma cut to 26" & threaded 5/8-24 6 Creed...Yea Baby it's a switch barrel
    Terry Cross KMW Sentinel stock
    Chad's 2.4 UL cheek hardware
    Adj LOP
    APA Bottom metal
    CG Tac trigger 12oz 1st stage, 12 oz 2nd
Razor Gen II 4.5-27 EBR-2C mrad

For anyone wondering about the paint, my wife loves the University of Tennessee, so naturally she loves orange

Chad that is pretty sweet, I have been tossing the idea around of getting one from you. Do you recommend a short or long action for it shooting 140gr bergers?

i'm a huge bighorn / sentinel fan. and also running the x-treme and vortex gen 2. and as a TN resident, i can appreciate the paint. what i can't figure out is why anyone would intentionally downgrade the bottom metal.

in any event, that is a very nice rifle!

    Meh?

    • Well machined.

    • Works as advertised.

    • Doesn't weigh a ton.

    • Doesn't look like it was designed in the Soviet Union.

    • Uses AI magazines.

    I don't see the complication.

    wow

i hope you're not implying the sentinel bottom metal is not well machined and doesn't work as advertised, because I can't think of a faster way to flush your credibility down the toilet. I've only used AI mags in my 4 sentinels.

Wyldeman - get me drunk enough and I'd let you knock me up in exchange for a Bighorn built by Chad (I'm not a cheap drunk).

Seriously though, anytime you can do something special for a stay at home Mom, you earn mucho karmic points in my book.

Sent from 80ms in the future
    Much peace
